Dutch violinist Rudolf Koelman studied with Jan Bor, Herman Krebbers, and Jascha Heifetz. He was the first concertmaster of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and has been a professor at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) since 1987. As a soloist, Koelman has performed worldwide with renowned orchestras, made numerous recordings, and won the Edison Award in 2010 for his live recording of Paganini's Violin Concertos 1 & 2. His latest CD release on Challenge Classics (2023) features Saint-Saëns and Glazunov Violin Concertos. Rudolf Koelman is frequently asked to serve as a jury member and as a guest professor giving masterclasses worldwide.

Emerging from the ZHdK Strings after 20 successful years with hundreds of concerts and Tours throughout Europe and Asia the Silkroad Chamber Soloists were established in 2024
Based in Zürich, Switzerland, the ensemble aims to
collaborate with accomplished musicians from abroad, performing in various chamber music formations ranging from duos to string orchestra.
